This is the last part of the park visible from the road and somewhere in this tangle of trees and scrub is the final part of the old defensive earthen ramparts that were built to protect Chiang Mai

You are right about the 'visible from Mahidon road' part but having investigated a little on the ground I can add that you can see more of the ramparts(and still not the end of the park) from a lane near the 7-11 that goes to behind the shops and also from (private) lanes on Haiya Rd.
