Doctor says Thailand should match WHO's pollution standard | Bangkok Post: news:

"A doctor providing medical care to haze-affected patients in the North has called for an adjustment to the pollution safety standard.

Dr Chaicharn Pothirat, chief of pulmonary, critical care and allergies at Chiang Mai University's faculty of medicine, said the current maximum safety level of 120 microgrammes per cubic meter per day for particles less than 10 microns is far higher than that set by the World Health Organisation (WHO).

In 2005, the WHO set the maximum safety figure at 50 ug per cu/m per day, but it has not been adopted in Thailand."

Bangkok Post : A 'green' mall for Chiang Mai

Bangkok Post : A 'green' mall for Chiang Mai:

"Korakoth Kunalungkarn, executive vice-president of the architecture firm Interior Architecture 103 Co, noted visitors go to community malls for shopping, playing, eating, entertaining, medical care, beauty, banking or family leisure. Many prefer community malls to shopping malls because they can avoid the crowds and noise.

Ms Korakoth is responsible for the interior design of the new Promenada Resort community mall in Chiang Mai. She divided it into two buildings to serve different target groups.

One will serve families with a supermarket, home decoration, sporting goods, fashion, education, health & beauty, banks and fine dining while the other will serve teenagers with entertainment, cinema, sports, karaoke, skating and fast food.

"The concept is green and fresh," she said.

Korakoth: Relaxing outdoor surroundings

The Promenada will be two low-rise buildings bridged together with only three floors each, to keep things cosy."

You Meet Nice Sportbikes in the 250cc Neighborhood - NYTimes.com:

"NOBODY should be surprised to learn that Honda has the know-how to build a smooth, light, easy-to-manage motorcycle that is ideal for novice riders.

Or that the company can make a practical commuter bike that combines hybrid-beating fuel economy with a comfortable riding position and a flexible, well-mannered engine. Or that it has the ability to create a sportbike that can make even jaded ex-racers consider becoming racers again.

What does raise eyebrows, though, is that Honda can do all this with a single motorcycle — and do it at the entry-level price of"
